The Overpass

The Overpass is a full length gown made exclusively from recycled bicycle inner tubes. These tubes, harvested from trash heaps at local bike shops, have been meticulously cleaned and cut before being sewn together to make this couture garment. The body of the gown is made from long strips of tube sewn to canvas using an industrial walking foot sewing machine, while the shoulders are encrusted with sharps spikes made from the valves of bicycle tubes. A bicycle cog serves as the belt buckle for this jacket. The skirt is made from over 10,000 hand cut bike tube scales. Each scale was meticulously placed and sewn onto netting to make the skirt.
